Welcome to the Library's Suggestion Board Blog

We want your suggestions, questions and comments. This suggestion board blog is an excellent way for us to find out what's working and what's not. Please let us know - we want to help you in your studies and make your experience at UC a great one.

You may wish to search the blog first to see if your idea has already been posted. If so, please feel free to add a comment to the relevant posting. We do monitor comments so will see a new comment on an old posting. To make a comment, click on the heading of the posting, or on the comments link at the bottom of the posting. If you are logged in (use your UC login and password) your comment will appear immediately; otherwise it will go through a moderation process.

To post a new suggestion, question or comment use our Make a suggestion form. Your posting will go through a moderation process first, so won't appear immediately. When it does appear, it may be without a Library response to begin with, but other users will be able to comment.

Can you please turn down the heaters at the law library? with the hot sun and the heaters on,it gets too warm. As a result,I can't focus as i am uncomfortable. A few of my friends have the same issue. Its quite nice and queit so opening the windows will drisrupt other students due to protests, lawn mowers etc And the windows are not to be opened anyway cause they have signs up saying that.
Thank you :)

Thanks you for your comments about the heating in the Law Library. I agree, it is warm at the moment and have contacted Facilities Services to have the heating turned off. Staff within the Library will also monitor things and open the windows as needed.

Many thanks

Kia ora,

I thank the librarians for the endless and fantastic job they do for the students!
I do wish that the library would send out texts for 3 day loan books to be returned before they are due! Of course a text is sent out after they are due back along with a fine and it adds up if you have more then one book out. Could a text be sent out before books are due back?

Hi Marlene
Thanks for your compliment and for the suggestion.
I am going to see if we can revisit whether it is possible for us to do a text notification before a 3day loan becomes due.
Many thanks

Ask people to go to a café to have their conversations about their personal life. A library is for reading, learning, studying...not for catching up on the latest gossip.

I’m sorry that you’ve been encountering noise in our silent areas. In you are encountering people making noise in silent study zones, please do let the librarians know.
You can do this by approaching an information desk or by going on AskLive.
We are happy to respond to any noise complaints. Group zones and discussion rooms are available for those who would like to talk.
Our apologies again and please do let us know if you experience any noise in a silent study zone in any of our libraries.

Kind Regards
Lisa Matthews
