APA Referencing

When should I reference?

Reference your sources whenever you:

  • Directly quote another author.
  • Paraphrase or summarise another author's ideas.
  • Include statistics, facts, graphs, charts or tables created by another author.

Tips

  • Note down the details of all sources you use. This saves time later when you start writing your essay.
  • You can either keep a paper record or use EndNote.

Question

I only need to cite material when I directly quote?
