Information to cite
Make sure you note down the details of all sources you use. This saves time later when you start writing your essay and need to acknowledge a source.
You can either keep a paper record or use EndNote. EndNote is a database available on campus which allows you to store and organize a reference list or bibliography. You can use EndNote with Word to automatically create your reference list/bibliography.
What information do I need for my reference list or bibliography?
| Books | Author or editor, title, edition (if not first), publisher, place of publication, year of publication, page numbers used. |
| Chapters | You will need all of the above information, as well as the chapter author(s), chapter title and page numbers. |
| Journals | Author of article, title of article, title of journal, volume number, issue number, year of publication, page numbers |
| Web Sites | Author, title of web page, date viewed, URL. |
