If your interloan is received electronically, it will appear as a PDF in your Requests list. This is the first page when you login.
These will remain in your list for 60 days only, before being deleted, (for copyright reasons) so it is recommended that you save them as soon as you receive them.
The notice you receive should tell you which library to collect the item from. Please ask for it at the Information Desk of the relevant library.
Please note: in the Central Library interloan holds are NOT shelved with other holds in the Self Loan area. Ask for them at the Information Desk.
Login into the system. You should be taken to a list of items you have requested, which displays the status of each. If you are not in the "Requests List" screen, click My Requests in the left navigation bar.You can see more information about each request by clicking on the Details link on the right side of the screen.
Note: Some requests will not show by default. You may need to check the "Show Everything" box.
|Request||Needs library staff to approve and action, or it has already been requested from a library.|
|Pending||The item has been requested and is waiting a response from the supplying library|
|Answer will supply||A supplier intends to supply.|
Either not yet actioned, requested from a supplier outside the system, or is being considered for purchase.
Either way, staff will be in touch shortly to let you know the fate of your request.
|Shipped||Supplier has sent the item but it hasn’t yet arrived at UC Library|
|Received||Interloans staff have received item but it may be 1-2 days delay before the user is notified|
|Returned||A book is returned and should no longer appear in a user’s Horizon account|
This would be a wonderful feature, but unfortunately, it isn't possible currently. You will see any interloaned print items that are issued to you in My Library Account, and also see the due date for these in your Requests List on the interloan system. However the status of any requests for print or electronic copies will only appear in your Requests List on the interloan system.
The system will only know about the email address associated with your UC login, so any emails/alerts will go to that address. If you want them to go to another email address you will have to create an auto-forward on the account associated with your UC login.
For example, if your official UC email address is a @pg.canterbury.ac.nz and you want emails to go to your gmail account, you will have to create an auto-forward on the @pg.canterbury.ac.nz account.
Because we have to get permission for a renewal from the loaning library, you are not able to renew interloaned items via My Library Account. However there is a Renew icon available for these items on the My Requests screen on the interloans system.
- Click on to request a renewal. You will be asked for a desired date, which the Library will pass on the the owning library.
- The renewal request will be sent to the owning library, and if granted, the due date for the item will be updated for you.
- You will only be contacted if the item cannot be renewed.
