Macmillan Brown Library
Access to the collection
The Macmillan Brown Library is housed on 2 levels in Te Ao Mārama, the Māori and Pacific Studies building. Level 1 contains the library's closed stack collections and material from these collections must be requested either online or at the Service Desk on Level 2 and used in the library's Reading Room. Library staff collect items from the stacks on demand and these can be kept for users behind the service desk for as long as they are required.
How to request items from the closed stack collection
The Aotearoa Room on Level 2 consists of a substantial open access collection of material with a Māori focus, and the library's Reference Collection. Some of the material in the Aotearoa Room may be taken out of the Library for the standard loan periods, including videos and CDs. Items that may be borrowed have the following motif on the spine:

The Macmillan Brown Library also contains original unpublished materials (archives, photographs, architectural drawings, art works, etc.).
