Use these links to browse titles of feature films (generally fictional films with a running length of 40 minutes or more) on DVD and video. Documentaries on the film industry are listed as eg. 'American cinema'. For the location details of any film, click its title to bring up the full catalogue record.

Note: A director's national identity or origin may not be indexed or identified in catalogue records for his or her individual films. For instance, the Polish director Krzysztof Kieslowski's Trois couleurs films are catalogued as French. Use the DVD/Video Keyword index to search for films by individual director, e.g. kieslowski

Subject headings for film types & genres

NB: The above subject headings will retrieve only those records which have been catalogued to include these terms - not necessarily all films of this type or genre held. For instance, not all Westerns held in the Library have been given the subject heading "Western films" (e.g. Stagecoach and other films starring John Wayne ).

Exact titles of films, e.g. king kong or angel at my table

DVD/Video keyword
Title keywords e.g. lord rings ; subject keywords e.g. films zealand ; author keywords (for director or actor) e.g. campion or " jackson peter" or " wayne john"

Global keyword
Films and books relating to a subject, e.g. "film noir" , or director, e.g. "hitchcock alfred" , etc.

Subject alphabetical
Subject headings such as Feature films or Short films (subdivided by country) - useful because these are the standard subject headings given to all films, on video or DVD.

Subject keyword
Subject headings such as Motion pictures (subdivided by country) - this is the standard subject heading for books about cinema and film history.
