Learn Support

The University of Canterbury's Learning Management System is named Learn. It uses a popular open source software platform called Moodle, which was developed in Australia about twelve years ago, and is constantly being refined by a world-wide user community. Most university courses use Learn for blended delivery of their teaching programme. Learn makes it possible to add interesting, multi-media learning resources and student-centred activities (learning tasks) to make your teaching more flexible, interactive and student-friendly.

Today's students need access to their course materials and activities at times to suit their busy lives, and Learn provides that "any time, any place" flexibility. Increasingly, Learn is being used to offer a comprehensive online learning environment for teaching Distance students who are able to complete particular courses online.

Learn Help

  • Help for staff - using Learn
  • Request a NEW course to be set up in Learn

  • Note: If you wish to have a CURRENT Learn course site changed from S1 to S2, SU2 or vice versa etc., because the course is now being offered in a different Semester, you need to notify us and request this. Do this by using the AssystNET web form

  • Ask for help via AssystNET

  • When using Assist, lodge an e-learning request by:
        a. Clicking 'Log a Request' at the left
        b. Clicking E-Learning Services
        c. Clicking eLearning Enquiry
    Please state the COURSE CODE, ISSUE or REQUEST etc. and provide as much detail as possible.

  • Ask for help from the Flexible Learning Advisor for your College
