European e-Theses Guide

United States and International

Networked Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations
International organization dedicated to the preservation of theses worldwide. Provides access to free, electronic full-text of theses from participating institutions.

ProQuest Dissertations & Theses
Theses completed at North American universities from 1861. Some coverage of non-American theses also included. Theses from 1997 include 24 page reviews.

United Kingdom

Australia

Trove

Trove is "an innovative, free, online search engine developed by the National Library of Australia" which includes includes theses at all levels, including Honours, etc. After searching, use the left hand facets to narrow results to theses. Alternatively start with the Trove Advanced Search page and in the Limit your results to section go to Format and choose 'thesis' in the drop-down box - then search.

An online catalog of holdings of French academic libraries. Instructions:

  • Click on British flag for interface in English.
  • Click on Sudoc-Catalogue
  • Click on Extended Search
  • Under Type of Publication check Dissertations

THESA
THESA lists the subject of in progress doctoral theses at higher educational institutions in France. References to theses remain in the database for one year, after which it is listed in the Telethese database.

Germany

Dissertations Online
Information on digital dissertation projects in Germany. May be browsed in German or English.
